Who is

Di Herco-what?

You can call me Di.

I was born in 1983, under the sign of Libra. I came from lower-middle-class suburbia in the north zone of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Being a carioca (a person born in Rio) forced me to have creative thinking and learn fast to grow.

Since my childhood, I love create things: Illustrations, tales, songs, etc. My parents wanted me to be a doctor, but I only wanted to be creative. I always liked to solve problems. Mainly other people’s problems. Not too different from a doctor.

I was 16 when I learned the basics of HTML and rolled out my first website. Then I published the first websites for many local commerces.

I went three times to the university: Computers Network, Advertising and Marketing, and Digital Design. Since 2000 I have being working from small digital agencies to big tech and global companies.

In 2015 I moved to The Netherlands to work. I made new friends, saw the snown for the first time, and learned a new language.

In addition to being a product designer, I managed designers and multi-disciplinary product teams, coded as a front-end developer, and designed cool prints as a graphic designer.

I’m not competetive at all. I believe in collaboration and togetherness to be a better designer and even a better person.

I also believe in energy, reincarnation, and that there must be somebody else out there in the universe. I can’t prove none of them, but uncertainty is the charm of life.

I don’t aim for perfection. Good enough is more than enough.
